POS System Price in Pakistan 2026: Complete Guide
POS system price in Pakistan 2026: software, hardware and FBR costs for shops, restaurants and pharmacies, with real examples and money-saving tips.
· 9 min read · BrightExa Tech

Short answer: The POS system price in Pakistan in 2026 is about Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000 in the first year for a small shop with one counter. That covers POS software (Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 per month) and basic hardware (Rs 25,000 to Rs 65,000). Pharmacies and clothing shops usually spend Rs 60,000 to Rs 130,000, restaurants Rs 90,000 to Rs 200,000, and supermarkets Rs 300,000 or more.
If you're thinking about buying a POS system for your shop, the first question is always the same: how much will it really cost? Most providers only show you the software price. Then you find out about the printer, the scanner, the setup fee and FBR integration later.
This guide puts every cost in one place, in plain language, with real examples. By the end, you'll know roughly what you should pay, what you can skip, and which questions to ask before you hand over any money.

What you're actually paying for
Every POS system in Pakistan has two parts:
- Software: the program that makes bills, tracks your stock and shows your daily sales and profit.
- Hardware: the machines at your counter, such as a receipt printer, a barcode scanner, and sometimes a cash drawer or touchscreen.
On top of that, some businesses also pay for FBR integration and card payment fees. Both are covered below.
POS software price in Pakistan
You can pay for POS software in two ways: a monthly subscription or a one-time purchase.
- Basic FBR billing software: from about Rs 1,000 per month. Good for shops that mainly need FBR-compliant bills.
- Cloud POS (monthly): Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 per month. Good for small and medium shops, cafés and 1 to 3 branches.
- Custom POS (one-time): Rs 100,000 to Rs 180,000. Good for shops with special needs like udhaar ledgers, wholesale rates or Urdu receipts.
- Multi-branch POS / ERP: Rs 200,000 or more. Good for supermarkets, chains and franchises.
- BrightExa POS: one fixed price for your shop, agreed in writing after a free consultation. Request a POS quote.
Which is cheaper in the long run? A monthly plan is easier on your pocket at the start. A one-time custom POS costs more up front, but if your shop does Rs 10 lakh or more in sales each month, the money you save on monthly fees can pay for it in about 12 to 18 months.
POS machine and hardware price in Pakistan
Good news first: you don't need an expensive "POS machine" to start. Most POS software runs on the laptop or computer you already have. You just add a printer and a scanner.

- 58mm thermal receipt printer: Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000. Enough for most small shops.
- 80mm thermal receipt printer: Rs 12,000 to Rs 25,000. Better for busy counters and restaurants.
- Barcode scanner (1D, wired or wireless): Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000. Needed if your products have barcodes.
- 2D / QR barcode scanner: Rs 27,000 to Rs 44,000. Only needed for QR codes or scanning phone screens.
- Cash drawer: about Rs 13,500. Recommended if you handle a lot of cash.
- Barcode label printer: about Rs 21,500. Only needed if you print your own barcodes.
- Touchscreen POS terminal: Rs 97,000 to Rs 115,000. Optional, because a laptop or PC works too.
Money-saving tip: Start with a 58mm printer and a basic wired scanner (about Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000 together). Upgrade to an 80mm printer or a wireless scanner only when your counter gets busy.

Cloud, desktop or hybrid POS: which should you buy?

- Cloud POS: you pay monthly and can check sales on your phone from anywhere. The downside is that it needs internet to work.
- Desktop POS: you pay once and it works without internet, but your sales data stays on one computer.
- Hybrid POS: keeps billing during load shedding or internet cuts, then syncs to the cloud when you're back online. For most shops in Pakistan, this is the safest choice.
FBR integrated POS: do you need it, and what does it cost?
You need an FBR integrated POS if you are a Tier-1 retailer. That generally includes chain stores, large retailers and shops in big malls. If you run a small neighbourhood shop, it's usually not required, but check with your tax advisor.
Here's what FBR integration involves:
- Re 1 per invoice: FBR adds a POS service fee of Re 1 to each bill. Your customer pays it, and you deposit it with your monthly sales tax return. Check FBR's website for the current rate.
- Register every counter: each outlet and each POS counter must be registered with FBR to activate integration.
- Setup cost: providers often charge around Rs 15,000 one-time plus a monthly fee for FBR integration. Some include it in the POS price, so always ask.
Tip: If there's any chance you'll need FBR integration, buy a POS that's FBR-ready from day one. Adding it later usually costs more.

Card payment charges
If you accept debit or credit cards, your bank keeps a small fee from each card sale, usually 1.5% to 3%. The money normally reaches your account in 1 to 3 working days. QR payments through Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa can cost less, so ask your POS provider which payment methods it supports.
Hidden costs most people forget
Before you sign, ask your provider about each of these:
- Yearly renewal or licence fees
- Extra charges for each new user, counter or branch
- Paid updates when FBR rules change
- Installation, product entry and staff training
- Thermal paper rolls, a small but ongoing cost
- Whether you can export your data if you switch providers later
6 questions to ask before you buy a POS
- Can I see a live demo? Test how fast billing and barcode scanning really are.
- Does it work without internet? Load shedding should never stop your sales.
- Can I see sales and profit on my phone?
- Is it FBR-ready? Even if you don't need it today.
- Can I give staff separate logins? This helps stop billing mistakes and theft.
- Is the price fixed and in writing? It should list software, hardware, setup, training and yearly fees.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of a POS system in Pakistan?
A basic POS system for one counter costs about Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000 in the first year, including software and hardware. Restaurants and multi-branch businesses usually pay Rs 90,000 to Rs 300,000 or more.
What is the POS machine price in Pakistan?
An all-in-one touchscreen POS terminal costs about Rs 97,000 to Rs 115,000. Most small shops don't need one. A laptop with a Rs 6,000 receipt printer and a Rs 6,000 barcode scanner works well.
How much is POS software per month in Pakistan?
Cloud POS software usually costs Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 per month. Basic FBR billing software starts from about Rs 1,000 per month.
Is a POS system mandatory in Pakistan?
An FBR integrated POS is mandatory for Tier-1 retailers. Smaller shops don't have to use one, but a POS still helps control stock, stop billing mistakes and reduce staff theft.
What is the FBR POS service fee?
FBR charges Re 1 per invoice for Tier-1 retailers. The customer pays it, and the retailer deposits it with the monthly sales tax return.
Can a POS system work without internet?
Yes. Desktop and hybrid POS systems keep billing without internet and sync your sales when the connection comes back. This matters in Pakistan because of load shedding.
Which POS is best for a pharmacy in Pakistan?
Choose a POS with batch numbers, expiry date alerts, medicine search by formula and fast barcode billing. Expect to pay about Rs 60,000 to Rs 120,000 in the first year for one counter.
How long does it take to set up a POS system?
A ready-made cloud POS can be running in 1 to 3 days. A custom POS usually takes 4 to 6 weeks, including setup, adding your products and training your staff.
